17-Year-Old Shot on 3800 Block of W 47th Street
A 17-year-old male was shot in the hand Sunday evening on the city’s Southwest Side, according to Chicago police.
The incident occurred at approximately 6:38 p.m. in the 3800 block of W 47th Street. Authorities say the victim was standing on the sidewalk when an unknown offender opened fire, striking him in the hand.
Emergency responders transported the teen to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in fair condition.
No arrests have been made, and the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation. Area One detectives from the 8th District are leading the case.
