Man Fatally Shot After Stabbing 22-Year-Old Woman During Argument in Englewood Home. The Woman Who Shot Him Is in Custody.

A 38-year-old man was fatally shot Friday night in the 400 block of West Marquette Road in Englewood after he stabbed a 22-year-old woman in the stomach during a domestic argument. A third woman who witnessed the stabbing pulled out a gun and shot the man. She is in custody pending charges.

A man is dead and two women are recovering after a domestic dispute inside an Englewood home turned violent Friday night leaving one woman stabbed and the man who stabbed her shot and killed by a witness, Chicago Police said.

At approximately 11 p.m. Friday a 38-year-old man got into an argument with a 22-year-old woman inside a home in the 400 block of West Marquette Road in the Englewood neighborhood, according to Chicago Police.

The argument turned physical and the man pulled out a sharp object and stabbed the woman in the stomach.

The man then pulled the woman outside the home, police said.

A second woman who was inside the home and witnessed the stabbing pulled out a firearm and shot the man in the chest, according to Chicago Police.

The man was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. Chicago Police have not yet officially identified the man at the time of publication.

The 22-year-old woman who was stabbed was hospitalized in good condition, according to CPD.

The woman who fired the shot was taken into custody following the incident, according to Chicago Police.

A firearm was recovered at the scene at the time of her arrest. Charges against her are currently pending.

Chicago Police said the incident appears to be domestic-related.

The 400 block of West Marquette Road sits in the Englewood neighborhood on Chicago’s South Side within the 7th District. Area One detectives are investigating.
