Possible Mass Shooting at Gage Park Bar Leaves Woman, One Other Dead

A possible mass shooting unfolded Sunday night inside a bar in the Gage Park neighborhood, leaving at least four people shot, including two reported fatalities, according to early reports from authorities.

Chicago police responded to reports of gunfire inside the bar, with a caller stating that a male Hispanic suspect was actively shooting. A heavy police presence, including SWAT teams, was deployed to the scene. Officers took one individual into custody before making entry into the establishment.

Emergency responders confirmed that one female victim was pronounced dead on arrival, and additional paramedics were requested, bringing the total number of ambulances on standby to two. Engine 88, on scene, reported two victims, while staged ambulances were positioned at 51st and Kedzie. Authorities later confirmed that one victim had left the scene, while two were pronounced dead and another was transported for medical care.

As police continue their investigation, officials are exploring a potential connection between the bar shooting and an earlier incident involving a gray minivan.

Kedzie Avenue has been shut down between 51st and 55th Streets as detectives and emergency crews process the scene. The investigation remains ongoing.
