Woman Shot in the Arm After Street Fight Among 12 Females Turns Violent
A 30-year-old woman was dropped off at Jackson Park Hospital after being shot in the arm Tuesday night, authorities reported.
The caller stated that the victim was in the ambulance bay in a Jeep when she arrived at the hospital. She was later transferred to the University of Chicago Medical Center, a Level I Trauma Center, for further treatment.
Police determined that the shooting occurred near 2453 E 74th Street. Responding officers found a crime scene consisting of one live round and blood in the street.
Witnesses reported hearing a single gunshot following a street altercation involving approximately 12 females. Several 911 calls were made about shots fired in the area.
No suspects are in custody at this time, and detectives are continuing their investigation. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact the Chicago Police Department.
